Frequently Asked Questions
WHY DID YOU START THE HUMAN INFUSION PROJECT?
I've gotten incredible benefit from the transformation that my brain, my body and my marriage is going through. And I've learned so much that I feel compelled to share it. The initial effort and modification to my daily routine and life has proven to be so worthwhile, and continues to dramatically change how I experience life. So for that reason alone, it's important to me to get some basic information out there, even if I don't financially profit from it. Technically, I already have 'profited', if I measure it by personal benefit.
HOW DID YOU PICK THE NAME OF YOUR PROJECT? WHAT DOES 'HUMAN INFUSION' MEAN?
Marketing professionals often ask me why I don't use my own name as a focal point for branding this project. The short answer is that I wanted to create something beyond 'me'. Something that one day might even outlast 'Jen Stover' and might act as a hub for other peoples insights, as well as my own. As for how I came up with the title, that answer take a little more explanation than this FAQ space supports so I'll redirect you to this blog post I wrote to give you answer instead.

WHY DO YOU GIVE SO MUCH AWAY FOR FREE? YOU COULD CHARGE MORE FOR WHAT YOU PROVIDE, SO WHY DON'T YOU?

As a human being in my late 50's, I'm in a point in my life where using my skills, education and experience in a way that serves others, is more important to me than profiting from it. I also view mental wellness in the same way I view food, water or any other life essential - something that I feel everyone deserves access to. If I were selling luxury cars, high-end apparel or hotel stays instead? I'd readily charge a price that I'd profit from, because I don't see those things as essential to living a healthy human life.
My husband and I are also grateful to be at a stage in our lives where we really have everything we need. We've gone through bankruptcy, recovered from it, saved and reinvested for several years and now choose a lifestyle that is easy to adjust in order to make our assets last. I guess you could say that we've made more good choices than poor ones when opportunity and people crossed our paths. But we also recognize that our success is a mix of choices we've made, timing, level of privilege, hard work, intentional training, a willingness to learn from mistakes, an optimistic attitude, learned resilience, the help and influence of others, all topped with a sprinkle of faith.

DO YOU HAVE A MINDSET ISSUE ABOUT MAKING MONEY?

Believe it or not, people actually ask me this. No, I do not have mindset issue about making money or my husband and I would not be in the position we are today, doing what we're currently doing. Providing a low-cost service or product is simply our chosen business model. My husband uses it with one of his side businesses and I use it here at HIP. We also have a free travel website that provides free reviews and itineraries. So providing a free or low-cost service is sort of a theme in our family !

DO YOU CHARGE A LOW PRICE BECAUSE YOUR CLASSES ARE OF LOW QUALITY?

Another unexpected question. But one I'm happy to answer. There are plenty of practitioners out there sharing some of the same information I do, but at a lot higher costs and using more refined videography. If that speaks to you, great. I'm a firm believer that different styles suit different people. I don't use high-dollar media or write content using AI, and my videos aren't fancy or created by professionals. They're simple, practical and relatable. Like I aim to be. And they represent in part, a shift in a thinking-pattern that the Human Infusion Project wants to encourage: that valuable learning in the field of personal development doesn't need to come only from academic or licensed professionals. We can learn from each other, as well. And it doesn't have to cost you a fortune. So, I leave the high-tech stuff to pros and gurus. The Human Infusion Project is a grass-roots mission. My goal is to serve those who don't have the resources to pay $200+ for coaching/therapy sessions on a regular basis, or to shell out $10,000-$60,000 to learn how to improve their lives and relationships.
HOW CAN YOU GROW AS A BUSINESS IF ALL YOUR PROFIT GOES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH YOUR GRANT PROGRAM?
That's a fair question. Especially with all the 'high-ticket' models our there that focus on fast profit from fewer people. The primary reason is because the brain strengthening , emotional nervous system development and relational connection strategies that I use have given me such a sense of inner peace and have improved our marriage so much, that I want to share them with as many people as I can without cost being a barrier.
Next, although HIP is primarily a social-contribution service, I am writing a book this year and hope to start speaking at corporate events or conferences one day. So if I profit from those two endeavors, great. Large companies have 'deeper pockets' that can afford to pay speaker fees. But the fundamental brain and body education on this website is free to the general public. And 100% of the profit from any of my online courses will continue to be recycled back into the community through our Wellness Assistance Grant.

Continuing, I also plan to establish an affordable mentoring group for those who have completed or are working through the Whole-Brain Strengthening and Emotional Nervous System Development strategies and would like tips or guidance on getting through some of the tougher challenges you may encounter in the process. If you feel the education on this website or in the Whole-Brain Relationships class has been of value to you, I hope you will consider joining us.
I do understand that if I want to reach and impact more people, I'll need additional resources to extend reach. But I'm also happy and fulfilled by reaching and impacting even a few people. I'd love to see the Human Infusion Project grow, expand and become a type of social enterprise - where operational costs are covered, a moderate profit is made to re-invest into growth and expansion, and the rest is redistributed back to the public in the form of grants. In the meantime, I plan to continue showing up and serving the way I am, while remaining open to see where it takes us. Here's a glimpse of my general plan and how we currently operate: 100% of the profit that comes from any on-demand class fees and patron donations will continue to fuel the grant. That way the money that consumers put towards their own education, will also help others in return. As for operational costs - currently, my husband and I cover all of that as part of our social contribution, or as a way of 'giving back'. As the Human Infusion Project grows, 10% of any future speaking, presentation and/or book sale fees will continue to source this grant. And any profit from book sales or speaking fees will be used to hire needed staff and extend outreach.

YOU HAVE A COACHING CERTIFICATE. SO WHY AREN'T YOU COACHING?
I attended a coaching program to learn some strategies for asking good questions and to understand what was being taught in this field. I did learn some helpful tools. But what I truly love and believe, is that we humans are designed to learn from each other, as well as from our own 'inner wisdom'. Coaching programs emphasize clients self-sourcing their own answers. Which does have benefit. But in my experience it can also be quite limiting for some people. Although this approach makes it convenient for practitioners with little experience or knowledge to work as a 'coach', I feel it grossly lacks the wisdom that comes from mentorship and firsthand experience. So this is why I prefer to present, teach and mentor - offering a mix of personal experience and advise when asked, combined with ...the ability to ask good questions so each person can also self-source some answers for themselves. And probably the most important reason I prefer to mentor and teach is that there are already so many more skilled, experienced therapists and practitioners out there who provide excellent guidance. I gladly serve to complement and augment what they do, by doing what I myself do best (and love to do!)

WHY DO YOU ONLY SEND OUT MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS?

These days our inboxes are overflowing as companies bombard them in an attempt to sell us stuff. Each morning I go through and have to delete or unsubscribe from businesses or people who are constantly trying to upsell me with a lot of generic, industry-taught or AI-created content. So if it bothers me, why would I subject anyone else to it? So once a month I send out an update about upcoming classes, new blog posts and a topic for contemplation with strategies that I've found to be helpful in my own life and relationships. This year I may start sending bi-monthly emails (every 2 weeks) as I plan to spend less time on social media and more within our community. But that's it. I'll still have my Facebook page and Youtube channel for inspiration and previously recorded education. But I'm reserving the live presentations, support group and blog posts for the HIP community. If any of that interests you, you can stay updated by joining us here.

ARE YOUR CLASSES GOOD FOR HEALING TRAUMA AND PTSD?
Human Infusion Project classes are based on my education in the area of brain and emotional nervous system development, as well as my personal experience with High-Functioning Anxiety (HFA), Generalized Anxiety (GA) and relational development. These are the areas I feel I have the most robust knowledge and expertise in. However, I do feel that the foundational brain and body education is something that can benefit a large percentage of the population. Of course there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution for mental wellness. And there are certain mental injury diagnosis and disorders that have unique attributes and benefit from specific healing approaches. But what we teach here at HIP is something that I believe, at a minimum, can help 'move the needle' of emotional relief for a lot of people. And it is my hope that for many more who suffer from HFA or GA, working through the entire framework will yield transformative outcomes like the ones I've experienced. If you're interested in learning from me but are unsure if it's a fit for you, ask a professional therapist to watch one of our classes and help you make that decision. If you feel you've experienced severe trauma and /or cPTSD, I highly recommend the support of a skilled, experienced, somatic-based practitioner to guide you through your personal work, even if you do it in conjunction with our online classes. It can really be helpful to build a trusted relationship with a live professional who can slowly and skillfully guide you through the stages of more complex, interpersonal healing.

DO YOU PLAN ON HAVING A SUPPORT GROUP OR A MENTORING GROUP? HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO ATTEND?
Yes. But I don't know precisely when. I had excellent professional support throughout the first part of my own recovery. But there were also times I had so many questions along the way, that I wished I had a non-professional mentor, or just a regular person who had been through all that I was going through, to show me how to integrate all of it in less time. So yes, a mentoring / support group is 'in the works' and will most likely have a low-cost access fee. But it will be a live forum designed for discussion, Q&A and connection to others going through the same emotional refinement and core development process. So stay tuned if that interests you.

I WANT TO GET PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT WHILE TAKING YOUR CLASSES. WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A THERAPIST OR COACH WHO WILL APPROACH IT LIKE YOU DO?
Every person is unique and different. And each therapist or practitioner, despite similar education, is unique in their delivery style and the way they interact with you. So it can sometimes take a few trials with different people to find the right 'match' for you, even if their background includes science and research. So take some time and ask questions. Ask them about their educational background. Ask about their personal experience that underpins what they offer. Ask about specific classes they have taken. Don't be intimidated by 'letters' behind their names or shy away from lack of them. Good practitioners understand the need for a good therapist/coach-client fit and they know their scope of practice. I do recommend looking for support practitioners who have a foundational, comprehensive understanding about brain and emotional nervous system function (beyond 'mindset' and NLP), understand the neurobiology of trauma and somatic processing, and incorporate research-supported strategies like cognitive/dialectical- behavior therapy, or other helpful models like inner child work, shadow work, tapping, flow state or parts therapy. And of course, there are many people out there who can teach you a wide variety of healthy management or coping strategies to help you while you're doing your deeper development work. Quite honestly, it's most important that you just get started. You'll learn something from any approach you select. They all serve different roles in helping you get to the same developmental or healing 'destination'. Many simply use different languages and techniques to describe it.

WHY $27? WHY THAT PRICE OR NUMBER? DOES IT HAVE SOME SIGNIFICANCE TO YOU?
No reason other than I wanted to stay under a price someone in the USA might spend on a few good books, or close to what someone might pay for something in their daily life - like to reload a coffee card. I also ran a few prices past different people, and the majority responded to $27 (versus $25 or $29 as example). I understand that in different countries, this amount can be costly in local currency. If you'd like to take one of our paid classes, and your local currency makes it difficult to responsibly fit into your budget, contact me. We'll work something out.
